Royal Gorge Academy is an exclusive co-ed boarding school set on a beautiful campus located in Cañon City , Colorado .  Cañon City is approximately 8 miles east of the world-famous Royal Gorge Bridge , which tourists from all over the world visit each year, and is approximately 100 miles south of Denver .  The Academy operates year’ round, allowing for immediate enrollment on a continual basis.

 The student population is comprised of young men and women within the age range of 13 to 17 years.  Although Royal Gorge Academy is a co-ed facility, male and female students live separately.  Students eat meals, attend classes and physical education periods, and participate in other daily activities within their own gender groups.  There are designated times and events throughout the school term that allow for healthy socializing between students.  We also maintain a same-gender staff contact:  male staff do not work closely with female students, and female staff do not work closely with male students.  Students are required to be well-groomed and appropriately dressed in uniform attire at all times.

Royal Gorge Academy's students enjoy a gorgeous campus that houses up-to-date, modern facilities, including comfortable dormitories, a spacious dining area, fully-equipped classrooms, a full gymnasium with weight and exercise rooms, an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a soccer field, and a performing arts auditorium. 

At Royal Gorge Academy, your child will have the opportunity to learn and grown in an environment of change, instead of an environment of control.  Our students learn how to make choices that work for them and allow them to develop their own strengths, rather than having to rely on the strengths of authority figures or their peers.  Your child will have the opportunity to help others on a daily basis, and will also receive help from his/her peer group on general, as well as specific, problems with which he/she may be struggling.  Within the peer groups (10 students per Cottage), your child will work closely with others to find solutions to their problems, and in doing so, will develop the strength to help himself/herself throughout life.
